I adore our home.
In fact, our entire family fell in love with this house almost as soon as we walked in the door.
About 3 years ago, my work transferred me to a new area. Having to pull our teenagers from their school and friends was absolutely the toughest part of that decision. Plus, we moved to an area where the heating and A/C is more on the heating side than where we came from. Most of the heating and A/C load where we used to live was dealing with the overheated season during the warm season. To try and help assuage the feelings of our teenagers and include them more, my wife and I brought them into the house buying process. They had full input and we wouldn’t agree on a place without their go ahead. It took a while but, when we walked into this place, we knew we had found a home. The odd thing was, there was a small section of the house that just didn’t get certainly warm no matter where the heating and A/C was set. The two of us dealt with this by turning that section of the lake house into a guest room and storage area. However, it still bothered us when guests would come because of the lack of HVAC comfort in the winter. Finally, I was able to figure out just what was going on and fix it. I knew there was no problem with the heating and A/C as it was modern and had been thoroughly checked out by the HVAC people. What I discovered was the previous owner had moved a few interior walls which resulted in throwing off the heating and A/C ventilation. But, I was able to repair the situation with room to room ventilation fans that helped supplement the heating and A/C air flow.
